Atma Vichar: The Consequence of Ego and Illusion

When the mind falls into the errors of egotism, selfishness, and the mistaken belief of “mine”—akin to confusing a simple rope for a snake—strength and valour are naturally diminished. As former gallantry turns into a dead letter, pride and egoism drive the focus toward worldly possessions, good eating, and drinking.

This loss of inner fortitude leaves one powerless before greater forces, standing bruised and broken like defeated soldiers. Stripped of protection, armor, and weapons, those driven by ego and sensory desire are scattered into jungles, deserts, and distant lands, until their entire strength is destroyed and dissolved like dust in the sea.
